The HumboldtStrong Charitable Foundation is the long term organization that will build on the spirit and intention of the donors in the aftermath of the Humboldt Broncos bus tragedy. The Charitable Foundation will work to continue to pay forward the outpouring of support received through supporting other programs and organizations that work to assist individuals, families, and communities in their times of greatest need.
The Community of Humboldt
On April 6th 2018, the community of Humboldt, Saskatchewan, the nation of Canada and people all over the world were devastated by news of a highway tragedy that killed 16 Humboldt Broncos’ players, coaches and personnel, and injured, in many cases severely, the 13 other passengers. In the immediate hours after the incident, a GoFundMe page was launched by a concerned Humboldt resident, with the initial goal of raising $5,000 to pay for incidental expenses for the families of the tragedy’s victims.
